Differences in Copper Core Insulated Cables

Jan 02, 2022

The price difference of copper cable is mainly due to the different raw materials used in the production process. The main raw materials for producing copper cables are electrolytic copper, insulating materials and sheath materials. In addition, insufficient conductor section, good or bad copper doping and insufficient cable length are also important reasons for the price difference.

The qualified cable products are produced according to the requirements of national standards, rather than standard products or defective products. Not only the raw materials are fake and shoddy, but also the cable section and length do not meet the requirements of national standards. The price of aluminum alloy cable is different because the main raw materials of qualified aluminum alloy cable not only meet the requirements of international aa-8000 series aluminum alloy conductor material chemical composition and electrical properties of alloy conductor, but also meet the requirements of aluminum alloy conductor in elongation, conductor flexibility, tensile strength, creep resistance and other mechanical properties. The qualified aluminum alloy cable has the characteristics that the whole series of products are cross-linked polyethylene insulation and flame retardant sheath of various flame retardant levels, the sheath does not contain heavy metals such as lead and cadmium, and aluminum alloy belt interlocking armor.

The cost of qualified aluminum alloy conductor is similar to that of high-quality electrolytic copper. The cost advantage of aluminum alloy cable over copper cable is that the same weight material can produce cables of different lengths. The conductor material cost of unqualified so-called alloy cable is basically the cost of aluminum material. For unqualified alloy cables in the market, firstly, the conductor materials are unqualified. Secondly, because the manufacturer does not have the core formula technology, mature alloy cable production technology and production process, the alloy cable products can not meet the requirements of qualified alloy cables. It can be said that they are not real aluminum alloy cables at all. Such fake and shoddy products can only be sold at a low price. Some domestic manufacturers even sell aluminum cables as alloy cables. Although it is a bad act to deceive users, at least the electrical performance of aluminum cables is better than that of selling fake and shoddy aluminum alloy cable products.

Therefore, the price difference of aluminum alloy cable products must exist because the products are not the same at all and the difference is too large. In fact, through comparison, it is not difficult for consumers to see the difference in the sales price of finished cable products, which is mainly caused by the fishiness of the product in terms of material, whether the product is in accordance with the standard or not in production, whether the product has quality, mature production technology and production process guarantee, and whether the product is a real aluminum alloy cable. Unqualified copper cables will bring potential safety hazards, and unqualified aluminum alloy cables will bring greater potential safety hazards. In fact, unqualified alloy cables are not as good as aluminum cables, because the electrical performance of unqualified alloy cables can not reach the electrical performance level of aluminum due to technical and technological reasons, so it is impossible to improve the physical and mechanical properties. For economic reasons, it is better to select unqualified aluminum alloy cables directly, because aluminum cables are more economical and valuable than unqualified aluminum alloy cables.
