Wire and cable is a product closely related to our life and an indispensable energy for human activities. The service life of the cable depends on the quality of the cable and the environment in which the cable is installed. Therefore, the maintenance of wires and cables is very important.

Wire and cable maintenance:

1. Avoid damp, heat, corrosion or collision of wires, and try to avoid these unhealthy environments when using wires.

2. After using the wire for a period of time, the wire shall be inspected regularly. If any problem is found, it shall be replaced at the first time.

3. Do not overload the wires to avoid accidents.

4. Check the use of electrical and wiring at home from time to time, and timely maintain and repair any problems found.

5. For some lines installed in old-fashioned buildings or in disrepair for a long time, check whether the wires are aging. If any problems are found, immediately ask an electrician to repair them.

6. Pay special attention to those lines that are easy to be soaked by flood. If necessary, ask electricians to move the lines and take elevated, moisture-proof and other measures to protect them.

7. In case of power failure in rainy days, the power supply shall be cut off immediately, an electrician shall be asked to check the cause, and a special person shall be assigned to take care of it.

Wire and cable maintenance:

1. Clean the dust on the surface of insulating sleeve regularly. For places with serious pollution, the cleaning times shall be increased accordingly.

2. If the cable or protective tube is damaged, and the cable installation auxiliary device is missing, it shall be repaired immediately.

3. If the metal sheath of the cable has cracks, cracks, corrosion and other phenomena, it shall be treated temporarily and recorded for planned maintenance and replacement.

4. If more than 40% of the outer skin has fallen off or the armor layer has been exposed to rust, it shall be coated with antirust paint for protection.

5. Due to the high level difference, the inner sheath of the cable is prone to fatigue and cracking damage under the condition of large gravity and vibration, which has a great impact on the use of the cable.
