What Is BV Cable And RV Cable?

For many consumers of home decoration wires, they are not clear about the difference between bv wires and rv wires. These types of cables have a certain gap in terms of naming, structure and scope of application.

BV: Cable copper wire PVC insulated cable wire, is a single core wire of copper wire, because it is relatively hard, so it is also called hard wire.

RV: Cable copper wire PVC insulated flexible wire, which is copper wire, is a single core wire with more core copper wires twisted together.

First, the difference between bv wire and rv wire:

1: The bv wire is a hard wire, which is used more in home decoration, and the rv wire is a soft wire. Generally, a soft wire cannot be used in home decoration.

2: The rated voltage is different, the rated voltage of the general BVR is higher, the RV is 300/500V or 450/750V, and the BV is 300/500V or 450/750V.

3: The implementation standards of products are different. The implementation standard of bv wire is GB/T5023-2008, and the implementation standard of rv wire is GB/T5023.3-2008.

4: The application site is different, bv is mainly used for electrode connection lines of household lighting lines, and rv is mainly used for electrode connection lines in household appliances.

5: The price of rv wires will be more expensive than that of bv wires.

6: The service life will not be the same. The rv copper wire is easier to oxidize in the air, so the service life of the bv hard wire will be longer than that of the rv copper wire for the transmission line placed in the circuit for a long time.

Second, the bv wire and the rv wire are the same:

The bv wire and the rv wire are all single-core cloth wires, the insulation material is all polyethylene, and both have no grommets, and the rated voltages are 450/750V and 300/500V.

What are the advantages of bv wire compared with rv wire:

1: Whether it is installing wires or making terminals, bv wires are definitely stronger in practical operation. And when making connectors or wiring the terminals, rv often produces burrs as copper wires and is not well organized, resulting in short circuits or electricity.

2: The tensile strength of the rv wire will be better than that of the rv wire.

3: Because the rv wire is composed of multi-core filaments, the resistors of each single strand are relatively large. The rv wire is a single electrical conductor, so in the household circuit, the cable current carrying capacity and temperature resistance of the rv wire are higher than those of the rv wire.

Bv wires generally use single-core hard electric conductor sheathed cables, which are suitable for cables and wires used in power stations, electrical products, instrumentation equipment and communication products with AC current of 450/750V and below. RV cables are widely used in industrial production of power distribution equipment industry, especially in very strict flexible assembly sites, such as electrical cabinets, power distribution cabinets and various low-voltage electrical equipment, suitable for power engineering, electrical control system data signals and switch signals transmission.
