Technical Measures To Prevent Cable Fire Accidents

Cable fire will lead to power failure for a period of time, and it is also very troublesome to disassemble and assemble the cable. At the same time, it will also cause other cables in the cable trench to catch fire, resulting in great losses. Therefore, we must pay special attention to it. The specific measures to prevent cable fire accidents are as follows:

When laying the cable, the cable sheath shall not be damaged, and the cable shall not be mechanically damaged, so as to prevent the electric arc caused by the breakdown of the cable due to abnormal insulation, resulting in the fire of cable insulation materials and wrapped hemp yarn.

All cable holes on the wall and floor slab through which the cable passes shall be strictly blocked. In this way, if the cable is on fire, the combustion area can be isolated or limited to prevent the spread of the fire. If the temperature of cable trench and cable is too high, pay attention to ventilation.

Protect the cable. Prevent the cable from running under load for a long time, often detect and monitor the load of the cable, improve measures to prevent mice and other small animals from biting the cable insulation, and routinely check the cable head and intermediate joint.

In case of rainstorm, flood and other abnormal conditions, it shall be detected immediately:

① Check whether the insulating sleeve of the terminal head is damaged and discharged. For the terminal head filled with cable glue, check whether there is oil leakage and glue overflow;

② Check whether the wiring between the lead and the terminal is good and whether there is abnormal heating;

③ Check whether the cable intermediate joint is bent and whether the air temperature is normal.
