Italy Power Cord

The Italian power cord typically features a two-pin or three-pin plug, compliant with the CEI 23-16/VII standard, commonly referred to as Type L. The two-pin version is for devices that do not require an earth connection, while the three-pin version is grounded and often used for larger appliances.

Italian power cords are rated for the standard Italian voltage of 230V and a frequency of 50Hz, with current ratings that can vary. Common ratings for household cords are 10A or 16A, matching the power capacity required by most appliances.

To minimize stress on the cable ends and reduce the risk of damage, strain relief features are incorporated. They can be internal, integrated into the plug, or external additions that provide flexibility and strength.

At the end of the power cord opposite the plug, it may have various connectors depending on its use, such as IEC connectors for electronic devices. Other cords may terminate with stripped wire ends for direct wiring to equipment.
